Hope in Death

Pastor Ben Berger - 8/7/2022

This world can leave us feeling unhinged – and perhaps especially as we deal with death. Death is why those words spoken by the doctor are so painful: “There’s nothing more we can do.” Death is why the day can begin with bright optimism and end in shadowy gloom. Death, for many people in this world, is the ultimate experience of hopelessness, the unequivocal end to hope, the unavoidable specter waiting for them and their loved ones.

But God does not want us to be uninformed; God does not want us to grieve as those who have no hope. Hear the beautiful promise the Holy Spirit gives us today: Together with all those who’ve died in Christ, we shall be with the Lord forever.
