"The night is nearly over; the day is almost here" (Romans 13:12). Paul taught the Roman Christians to see the times for what they are. Two thousand years later, Paul's words echo just as loudly. As we look at our digital day, we can see all the tools of our modern lives - our smartphones and Bluetooth and on-demand entertainment - and yet fail to really see. We can become quite comfortable in our 21st century living, and forgetful of the dangers we download into our homes. We can become blind to the world's ideas and values lighting up our screens of every size. And so to us, too, the Holy Spirit says: Put off the deeds of this world's darkness, and put on Christ as you disciple your eyes!
