Christ Calls Us to Disciple Our Attention
Pastor Ben Berger - 3/20/2022
If an objective outsider were to audit your life – where you spend your time, what you focus on, and so on – what would they have to conclude about you? Would you be afraid to look at the mountain of minutes spent streaming video or engaged with your digital device? Would you rather not know how many hours you’ve racked up in that video game or with TikTok or soaking in news story after news story? If an objective outsider stepped into your home, would they conclude you are a Christian who worships the Lord Jesus Christ or an American like any other who gathers faithfully around the 75-inch screen and worships at the altar of modern media?
Scripture tells us that "the time is short" and "this world in its present form is passing away" (1 Corinthians 7:29,31). This as true today in our digital world as it ever was. The things of this world fade, but the things of Christ persist and endure.
Are your digital habits grounding you in the things of this world or of Christ?
